Life is full of beauty

Life is full of beauty; you just need the ability to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity.

We need to give each other room so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.

Enjoy beauty in everything.

finding color

“hope is a walking dream”

While trying to find color in the middle of winter…I fell back to a favorite quote “hope is a walking dream”.   You may wonder how this relates to trying to find color in the dead of winter.  You could look out your window and just see gray, and white and blah, blah, blah or your could take your hope, your dream and find color.  Even in the dead of winter there is color.  Color is everywhere, you just have to lift yourself beyond the blah’s of the “I only see gray and white” and really see.

It is fact that outside you have snow, and even when it is melting you have dirty snow; look beyond the obvious.    Open your eyes and look closely there is color is everywhere; so many browns, tans, dark greens, red berries of the hawthorn, different shades of white; color just muted.  Now look inside your windows, open your curtains, raise your blinds, let the light in, find color, it is everywhere.  Color in your walls, your art, furniture, blankets, floors, clothing, everywhere color!!!   Make it bright and beautiful, here is your hope, your dream for finding color till spring when the bulbs emerge from their slumber and the buds burst open and all that was muted become so brilliant and lively.

So till then expand your perception, open your eyes and find color, it is everywhere you look.

missing you

missing you

Every winter I am amazed when the Robins return.  Thoughts rattle through my brain…what in the world are you thinking, returning to this frozen tundra so early.  But every year they are back by the beginning of February.

Their return had gone un-noticed to me which is quite unusual; subtle hits were all around but I have just been in a daze for some reason.  Maybe months of cold and snow…I don’t know.   But this morning as I was getting off shift , I was awoken from my daze that I have been walking around in .  Amazing when you see when you look beyond the white landscape.  What rattled out of my daze was the beautiful song of the Norther Cardinal.  Love its song.  As I was sliding across the ice to the car there the Robin was, just sitting all alone in the tree beside the drive.  I hustled as much as you can on an ice and snow-covered parking lot to my car, got my camera out and captured a few images.  My first Robin of the year…here even with inches of ice on the ground covered by inches of snow.

beauty of the elements

Always look for the brighter side of life

Only we can find our own path in the snow

Winter storm brought inches of ice then a hefty layer of snow on top.  Beautiful, yet so treacherous to traverse upon.  With more snow on the way I can only hope for more wonderful images to capture.

Inspiration

January 26, 2011

Inspiration… sigh … inspiration…

I have been inspired, not only the world around me but by so many I have come in contact with.  A few it is just via their blogs and websites, so breathtaking, artistic, gorgeous, and yes inspiring.

Others I have met and shared the lives they lived and yes I am inspired!

Then others I have the privilege to be touched with their last moments breath.

I have been deeply inspired!

Kim Klassen wrote on her blog:

“What are you waiting for?

More time?

More money?

More confidence?

Now’s the time, my friends…..

What are you considering?

What are you talking about doing?

What are you wanting to do….deep down in your soul?

Tell me, what’s holding you back?

I’d be willing to guess it’s you…standing right in front of you!!

Today I propose something simple…. Just Start.

Start your blog, Start your writing, Start your art, Start your healthier lifestyle.

START.

wanna take a course? read a book? learn to paint? learn to draw? learn to cook? learn to dance?

START.

NO MORE EXCUSES….

if you really want it… make it happen!

START.”

This rang loudly throughout the hollowness of my brain.  Just start!!!

I only have to trip over it a few dozen times for it to sink in, I know what I want to do, create and share my art with others…..so I am “Just Starting”

I just created a website of my images, yes my creative “artsy”, thought provoking, unique, and more or less just a viewing of the creative nature that tends for flow nonstop from me. I have been posting on Flickr for years, and recently on Redbubble, but I had yet to create something that was my own.  Yep, I am putting it all out there for the world to see.  If you know me this was an enormous step!  This blog will coincide with the website, how much fun will this be!!!!

So Just start!  New beginnings!

Enjoy the images, many are available for purchase through redbubble.com.  In the future I will be working on limited addition and only one addition photographic art prints.  Pretty Sweet!!!

Thank you again for joining me here

Hugs
